Object of The Game

In Treasure Hunt-The Game, you have won a one month vacation in the mythical tropical port of CaraCasa. You have always been a treasure hunter, and feel this is your chance to learn to dive, and to make your fortune in the treasure-rich waters.

You will meet various characters, who will provide you with Excursions which will take you on your journeys of exploration and treasure recovery. Your overall mission is to locate and recover as much treasure as possible, and see how much money you can amass.

You’ll be assisted by Oscar the octopus. He’s the game mascot who will help you to learn the ropes. Oscar will also ask you to help find some items, and when you succeed he will reward you.

The game environment is rich and full, with plants swaying in the ocean currents. Some fish nearby will keep you company, and others will keep you on your toes. You will explore several wrecks and meet some characters we call Excursion Guides.

Shipwrecks & Excursion Guides

Following your training in the Dive Certification Area you will visit the Dive Shop, where you will meet an Excursion Guide who will provide you with a list of items to be recovered at a particular dive site. You will eventually encounter three Excursion Guides and receive seven such Manifests, as you dive on and explore old and new underwater wrecks.

When you have located some items of treasure you can return to the Dive Shop, where you will be paid for your efforts in Carras (that’s the local currency in the Port of CaraCasa). You can use the Carras to purchase equipment to continue your search.

Eventually you will find you have more Carras than you can ever spend, and now you begin to realize you can indeed make a fortune in this new endeavor. The search for hidden treasure has enticed many divers in the real world, and in Treasure Hunt we have provided a huge variety of items for you to find.

Types of Treasure

There are many types of treasure, and each has a different value. A quick glance might be insufficient to tell you what an item is worth; but your Excursion Guide knows its true value, and will pay you accordingly.

Some items are easy to locate, but others are hidden well. Just as in the real world, powerful storms over many years can move portions of a wreck, so it’s important to explore areas beyond the wreck. Some items are totally buried - covered in sand - and to locate them you will have to use a metal detector (for steel and iron items) or a gold detector (for items containing gold). As you collect items you store them in a Mesh Bag you are carrying. When the Mesh Bag is full you surface to drop the items in your dive boat.

Some items are too heavy or bulky to fit into your Mesh Bag, and for these you will need to use a Lift Bag, which you can purchase at the Dive Shop. But it can take a lot of Dive Gas to fill the Lift Bag to raise some objects, so you had better monitor your Dive Gas closely.

Diving can be dangerous in the real world. In Treasure Hunt - The Game we have protected you from true danger, and made it easy for you to experience the wonders of diving for treasure. Besides getting rich, you will enjoy the experience of using your game device to seemingly fly through the water, as you dive for treasure.

Diving for Treasure

At a shipwreck site, you dive to the ocean floor to locate and collect the various items of treasure which are scattered and hidden around and inside the wrecks.

In Treasure Hunt, diving and swimming feel almost like flying! You move your hand-held gaming device to control the movement of the diver . . . tilt it to the side and your diver moves there. Tip it forward and your diver descends. You can also use your fingertip to scroll across the screen to move your diver.

Before you dive, be sure to don all your dive gear, and strap on a tank of Dive Gas. If the dive is deep, you’ll find your Dive Gas will provide a shorter dive time. So, while you’re diving, it’s best to monitor the gas remaining in your tanks. Failure to do so can have major consequences!

One dive area is very deep, very dark, and has strong ocean currents. Fortunately this is the last dive site, and by then you will be proficient in controlling your diver. This area requires the use of the largest Dive Gas tanks, and a flashlight to show you the way. But we've provided these, as well as a number of other tools to help you in your search.

Tools of the Trade

Treasure Hunt is a game, as opposed to being a diver training experience. As a result we have eliminated a lot of the tedious items, such as ensuring you don a mask every time prior to diving. We have made such tasks automatic.

Here are some of the ways we make your treasure hunting experience more enjoyable:

A Mesh Bag holds the items you have gathered
A Lift Bag raises heavy items to the surface for you
A flashlight helps you to explore those dark areas, and an indicator shows you when the batteries need to be replaced
A metal detector helps to locate fully- or partially-buried items which have an iron or steel content
A gold detector helps to locate items such as coins, which have a gold content
Various sizes of Dive Gas tanks enable you to choose the size of tank for the job
A Dive Pitch indicator shows you whether you are swimming up, down or horizontally
Warning sounds will alert you when hazardous creatures threaten your safety
A compass shows you the direction in which you are swimming
A mini-map shows you the area you have explored
A camera enables you to capture interesting scenes to share with your friends on Facebook or Twitter
A PDA keeps track of your Excursions, providing you with a list of items you need to find, and taking photos of items you have located

Your PDA

CaraCasa is a modern port, and the Dive Shop has technologically-advanced products available for a modern-day treasure hunter like you.

You can purchase a PDA (a Personal Digital Assistant) which will automatically keep track of Excursions you have accepted and treasure you have collected. It will also capture photos of items you have collected. You can purchase one that will work above water, or you can invest in a fully waterproof model. Either model is worth owning, and will enhance your game experience.

The final item to enhance your experience are the dangerous creatures lurking around the dive sites.

Hazards

As in the real world, diving can be a dangerous sport. In the game there are a number of dangerous creatures we fondly refer to as hazards, some of which would not prove as hazardous in the real world, but this is a game after all!

We are also more forgiving here than the real world would be, and you will not die if you cannot escape the hazard; you’ll just wake up in your dinghy, a bit worse for the experience, having temporarily lost all the items of treasure you gathered on the dive.

The hazards will vary depending on the location at which you are diving.
